DIVER’s Monaro In 1993 Seagraphic publications, which also publishes DIVER Magazine, took delivery of a new Monaro 27 SE. It has been used extensively for media coverage on the west coast, attending the sinking of ships as artificial reefs, diving events, and research for its marine guides. Among the trips it has been used on was one from Vancouver to Ketchikan in southern Alaska. This vessel is equipped with twin Mercruiser stern drives of 205 hp each. She cruises comfortably between 32 and 36 miles an hour and tops out at about 45. She has a long range fuel tank and extra fresh water storage. Steering is hydraulic from Teleflex with aWagner auto-pilot.
